Compromise Reached On Aiken Animal Control Law
Aiken council to consider a revised animal control ordinance after a citizens committee forged a compromise. The plan shifts to a one time $100 fee for unsterilized pets with $80 if micro chipped and lowers sterilized licensing to a $15 one time fee. Kennel thresholds rise to six and annual inspections apply, with new fees taking effect July 1 2006 to allow education.
