Veterans Day activities include a Candle Light Vigil at Aiken County Veterans Memorial Park with a flyover by four F 16 jets, national anthem by Christan Heritage Church, candles from Aiken High School JROTC, and remarks from Aiken County administrator Bill Shepherd and Ms Ola Hitt. Baptists and lawyers push to remove Confederate flag in South Carolina

Aiken man builds scale model of historic Depot
Herman Boland, an Aiken resident and longtime model maker, created a half inch to one foot replica of the old Aiken Depot to boost support for rebuilding the railroad station at Park Avenue and Union Street. The 450 to 500 hour project uses Victorian mold figures and custom roof shingles and was unveiled at the Aiken Chamber of Commerce with Depot Committee co chair H A Mac McClearen present.

School Board Eyes Five Year Facility Plan
