Aiken County Tax Relief Tied to 1 Percent Sales Tax
Property owners will see partial relief on residences, rentals, second homes and businesses on January tax bills. Ninety percent of revenue funds five county schools while ten percent provides relief for property and vehicle owners. The tax began in March with distributions aiding relief through 2016. Comtroller Tray Traxler notes 10 percent relief amounts and mill rates for different property types.
