New Flu Strain Detected As Vaccine Goes Out

The CDC reports six influenza cases in the United States this season including three in Texas one in New York and two in Hawaii. Job Growth Offset By Job Loss

The Labor Department reports the economy added about 349,000 jobs after seasonal adjustment to match a 360,000 labor force rise, keeping unemployment near 7.0 percent. Over the past year 2 million entered the labor force, about 75 percent of them women, while payrolls rose by 298,000 in a separate survey.
