After a Tuesday general election turnout of 75.35 percent and over 35 000 voters, residents faced long lines and confusion from remapped precincts. The election commission noted machine shortages and some sites, including Belvedere No 45, experienced rain and mud.
The Aiken County SPCA seeks $1 donations via two fund drives to build a 40 kennel shelter at Wire Road. Tickets are sold at Banks Mill Road and local merchants with $1 prizes from firms listed. A Christmas bazaar at Kalmia Mall November 14–15 features pony rides. prize drawing November 15.
