Orangeburg Wilkinson graduates mourn third Iraq casualty
Three Orangeburg Wilkinson High School graduates have died in the Iraq war within three months prompting students to rethink military plans. Army Spc. Darius Jennings 22 was killed when a Chinook was shot down. Sgt. Anthony Thompson 26 and Pfc. Vern Mack 19 died earlier. ROTC staff note mixed impact on students as community recalls a local graduate and the school remains a close knit village.
