Three suspects tied to Wagener store burglary

A Sunday morning break in at Harrison's Sports Store led to two arrests and a third suspect at large. Christopher Staley, 16, was arrested Monday at Wagener-Salley High School on burglary second degree and grand larceny charges, while his brother Carlos Staley, 26, was arrested Sunday afternoon after confronting owner Stewart Harrison with a tire iron. James L. Bradley Jr., 18, of Columbia, remains at large facing burglary second degree grand larceny and assault with intent to kill charges. Harrison was injured in the confrontation and is awaiting test results as police recover more than a dozen firearms from the store.

North Augusta Man Killed In U S 1 Crash At Cherokee Drive

A two vehicle wreck on U S 1 at Cherokee Drive left Juan Jose Barrantes-Lopez 66 dead at the scene from head trauma. Warren Vasquez 45 and Benjamin Hasan 49 were injured and transported to the Medical College of Georgia. charges pending. Authorities said no alcohol was involved and traffic was briefly halted.
