Balloting Information Planned for Sunday Edition

The Aiken Standard will publish complete election information in Sunday’s edition. It will include sample ballots for Aiken County voters, brief candidate biographies and pictures, and voting location nets. Full precinct by precinct totals will appear in Wednesday’s issue.

Palmetto Review Sailor Missing. Coast Guard Searched

The sailing sloop TAC and lone occupant Gabreal Fabio Feldman, a 29 year old Israeli, were reported missing on a voyage from Boston to San Juan. Three Coast Guard C 130 aircraft searched an area of about 80 000 square miles off the Carolinas to north of Puerto Rico. Feldman had been due to arrive in San Juan on Wednesday. MARION sewage spill prompts health warning as 1 million gallons escape Catfish Canal after a pump failure at the town sewage plant. Temporary pumps expected soon.

Shotgun wounds girl four in Aiken County trailer

A four year old girl, Tiffany Marie Glanton, was wounded when a shotgun blast was fired into the trailer at 855 Chime Bell Church Road around 3 10 am. Police said the incident occurred as a small black car pulled up and fired into the trailer where the girl slept, pellet injuries reported to her right thigh and she was taken to HCA Aiken Regional by EMS.
