SRS Gets Another Chance From DOE Site Playoff

Suspected Drug Dealer Shot In Ridge Spring Raid

An ADPS officer shot suspect James Marold Davis during a 1:45 a.m. raid on Pitts Branch Road Ridge Spring. Davis, 59, produced a revolver when told to show hands, was hit twice in the upper chest and transported to HCA Aiken Regional Medical Centers in critical condition. Authorities say the officer acted in self defense.

Three Ai ken County workers face trial in infant death

Three Ai ken County Department of Social Services workers Ruby Chambliss Bill Perkins and Clarence Graham were bound over to General Sessions Court for trial in the 1991 death of infant Krystal Scurry. They face charges including ill treatment of a child neglect of a child failure to report child abuse and use of public office for personal gain. Perkins also faces a charge of failure to report child abuse and Graham a charge of failure to perform duties under the Children's Code. Chambliss is charged with receiving additional compensation and failure to perform duties under the Children's Code.
