Savannah River Plant to break ground on first DWPF project
Ground will be broken Tuesday on the Defense Waste Processing Facility the first $1 billion Savannah River Plant project since the 1950s. DOE officials say the DWPF will be the nation’s first of its kind and the world’s largest nuclear waste processing facility with a peak construction crew of about 2100.
