In Dacca East Pakistan the army ordered residents off streets for a second day amid fresh violence. A government report says at least six people were killed and more than 100 injured, including 40 police, in clashes sparked by protests over Bengali language election forms.
Salt Lake City police say a grocer and a robber staged a gunless shootout over the weekend. Storekeeper Howard Hulbert testified the bandit gasb sprayed him at the checkstand and fled with about $200 after Hulbert used his own gas can to counterstrike.
