Snow slows California wildfires as fire crews gain ground
Snow covered Big Bear Lake area yet left icy roads and dense fog slowing progress. Firefighters built buffer zones and burned areas to create fire breaks while crews in San Bernardino and San Diego counties worked to contain fires that have burned hundreds of thousands of acres and forced thousands to evacuate. The Cedar Fire near San Diego was 81 percent contained after six days with a multi agency fact finding team formed to review initial efforts.
