Deputy suspended for firing three shots in theft arrest
Greenville sheriff's deputy Larry Young, a 28 year veteran, was suspended for violating deadly force policy after firing three additional shots as a suspect tried to flee. The incident began when the unmarked patrol car was left defrosting. Young blocked the stolen car and suffered minor injuries during a struggle. The suspect was unharmed. Young forfeited 10 days of pay and will undergo remedial training. He serves in the Judicial Services Division handling warrants and extradition.
