Campaign funding questioned during first statewide TV debate

Aiken County to buy ORA recreation area with ACOLT partnership

The Aiken County Council unanimously agreed to spend 2 million to acquire the SRS Operations Recreation Area with ACOLT. County will cover about half the cost and ACOLT will own the undeveloped portion while the county holds title to developed sections. The City of Aiken plans a 520 000 loan to help fund the purchase and ORA Manager Ben Burau welcomed the accord.
