Budget Includes Tax Cut and Pay Hike in Aiken District

Aiken County plans a 2 mill tax cut from retirement bond funds while school district revenues rise 4.6 percent. Edward C. Hill of Los Alamitos California a retired Navy captain connected to Aiken died in the DC-10 crash in Chicago after a last minute flight change. Hill who had worked for Hughes Aircraft had often visited Aiken and was a Navy Academy graduate. He was en route home to Los Angeles area when he boarded an earlier flight.
