Arrest in Aiken bank and liquor store robberies
Michael Paul Romero, 43, of Richland Avenue, charged with two counts of armed robbery while armed with a deadly weapon. Police say tips from Crime Stoppers and residents helped solve the holdups at People's Coveney Bank on Park Avenue and Harvard's Wine and Beverage on Kings Grant Way. Romero was arrested after officers surveilled his home and he offered no resistance.
