Mended Hearts pay tribute to Skipper Perry
Mended Hearts Chapter 294 honors Skipper Perry a longtime public servant in Aiken in memory of his work as a state representative and city councilman. The USC Aiken Wellness Center cardiac rehab facility, a collaboration with Aiken Regional Medical Centers, was installed in his name, with the chapter continuing to support patients. Perry died in June 2017 and was named a Man of the Year in 2016 by the Greater Aiken Chamber of Commerce.

Hopelands Concert Series Opens with Aiken Civic Ballet
The Hopelands Concert Series runs Mondays through use with the Aiken Civic Ballet performing at 7 pm on May 28 at the Roland H. Windhaenen Performing Arts Stage Hopelands Gardens 135 Dupree Place Guests may bring lawn chairs blankets picnic dinners and beverages on leashes Parking is at Green Boundary Club 780 Whiskey Road handicap parking at Rye Patch and Hopelands Gardens. In case of inclement weather performances move to Odell Weeks Activities Center 1700 Whiskey Road. Only service animals allowed at Odell Weeks. The concerts are free.
