Painter Wessinger recalls ladder bound life in Aiken
Joe Wessinger, a 75 year old house painter, recalls starting as a laborer on WPA projects in Aiken SC. He later ran his own painting business since 1947 and paints for long time clients while noting changes in paint lead content. He remembers early days with horses downtown and his 1972 trip to Haiti building a medical center.
