Birds and a duck family brighten a town scene
A Boston Globe tale recounted by Bonnie Winston notes Mildred the duck nesting near a restaurant in Hingham Massachusetts. For two years she has laid eggs four feet from the door, eight ducklings this year after thirteen of fourteen hatched last year. Mark Richard tends the situation, saying Mildred sits on the nest about 38 days and will stay with a long term “lease” as ducks return each year.
