Fire damages desk at Schofield Middle School

A recent fire at Schofield Middle School caused about 8000 dollars in damages after responders found smoke in a classroom shortly before 11 pm. Investigators believe someone entered through a window and set fire to papers and magazines in a trash can.

Fires Race Through Bath area Over Weekend

Bath volunteers responded to two weekend fires. An overheated air conditioner at radio station WWWA filled the building with smoke but no fire was found. Earlier, at 12 15 Saturday night, a blaze in the hallway of Georgia Carolina Leasing on Parker Drive damaged an office. Damages and cause are under investigation.
