D-Day memorial uncovers long buried family links in Bedford
In Bedford Virginia the National D-Day Memorial Foundation compiles a list of every American and Allied death from June 6 1944. The project aims to place bronze plaques with names at the memorial as 130000 troops participated in the invasion. Raymond Aubin was killed on D-Day aboard LCI 406 helping load anti aircraft guns and his family learns of his fate. The foundation faced bankruptcy and fraud charges against a former president but maintains its mission to preserve these stories for future generations.
