Lawmakers clash over a televised nuclear energy study as Rep. Bill Campbell pushes a resolution for the joint energy committee to assess hazards from primacy facilities waste disposal processing and transport. Opponents warn televised hearings could amplify anti nuke voices. The panel is to report by January 1980. A separate note says Eric Andre Gill seeks a new trial after a death sentence for the 1977 Bret Long restaurant slaying, with the Supreme Court faulting a pre deliberation jury procedure.
