A human skeleton was found yesterday near Langley by Donnie Earl Musselwhite and two others on Piney Heights Road beside the old Langley Cemetery. The incident prompted a sheriff’s probe as a nearby grave appeared vandalized and a bone bucket was located eight feet away.

Larger Peaches Are Expected This Year

Peach growers in the area look for a good season with thinning in orchards to size up fruit. Hail earlier damaged some trees though and predicts 20 percent fewer peaches than last year, the lowest since 1975, while fruit size should be larger and picking may begin in June. South Carolina continues to outproduce Georgia in peaches with a multi year lead, according to a May first survey.
