Jackson man jailed for 40 years in minor sexual misconduct case
Jerry Shaeffer, 63, of Jackson, pled guilty to four counts of criminal sexual misconduct with a minor. He received a 40 year sentence without parole after prosecutors say abuse occurred over more than six months. The case stemmed from a mother’s report of nude photos and admitted acts with the boy since age 10, including video evidence.

Aiken Man Charged After Green Leaf Found on Shirt
Aiken County deputies arrested Blake Willis after a traffic stop on Silver Bluff Road at Glennwood Drive. Officers say a green leafy substance was on his shirt as he exited the vehicle. Willis, 30, was cited for simple possession of marijuana and released with a summons for court.

The Aiken County Planning Commission will meet Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Sandlapper Room to decide on four proposed towers in Graniteville and surrounding areas. Torch Blast Injures North Augusta Man During Home Repair
