Fred Hahn Dies Suddenly at Home in Aiken
Frederick Hahn, a well known farmer of Aiken, died at his residence on Monday morning after a long health decline. He was 49 and survived by his widow Nettie Shee Hahn, four children Henry of Asheville, Francis, Alfred and Christina of Aiken, and brother William Hahn of Greenwood. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 8:30 PM at Bethany cemetery with Rev. John Eadie Henderson of the Presbyterian church officiating. pallbearers included George T. Towne and Otto Sommer among others.

Two Clinics Held Here Last Week
The Aiken County Health Department ran two free clinics last week one for children with diseased tonsils and adenoids at Aiken Hospital and one prenatal clinic for expectant mothers. Eleven children from twenty-one applicants were admitted ten operated on for tonsils and adenoids. Dr. Harry Wyman led the operation with local nurses and physicians assisting. The prenatal clinic provided thorough exams and dietary and hygienic guidance and will continue each Saturday to stress professional supervision during pregnancy to save lives.

Hospital board takes charge of institution
At a meeting of the Olean committee of the Aiken H and Relief Society Robert G Tarrant was named to the board of trustees representing the association. The board, with Robert L Gunter and G Leitner representing owners, was selected by the county entry to turn the hospital over to the county for rent of one dollar per year. The owners approved the lease and the board will open the hospital soon, with funds allocated for maintenance and a superintendent as first duties.
