Rural infrastructure bank bill moves through South Carolina House

State Rep. Bill Clyburn leads a bill to pool 30 to 60 million dollars for rural water lines and other infrastructure. The plan would fund low interest loans or grants via an infrastructure bank to aid rural areas in Aiken Edgefield and Saluda counties with job creation and development. A two member slate from the House, Senate, and governor would form the bank board, seed money exists, and full funding awaits the 2008-09 budget.
