DOE Disputes Over Savannah River Ecology Lab Funding

DOE officials say documents will show ongoing talks with Savannah River Ecology Laboratory and University of Georgia about outside funding. The agreement signed in 2006 cut core funding, gave only 1 million for infrastructure this year, and halted core support in 2008. DOE review on May 7 found most proposals outside mission goals, limiting additional funding to about 1.8 million for this year. Dr. Paul Bertsch leads SREL.
