Roommates Find $40,000 in Couch Cash in New Paltz
Three roommates at New Paltz uncover a stash of envelopes containing forty thousand dollars hidden inside a couch purchased for 55 dollars from a Salvation Army thrift shop. They return the money to a 91 year old widow, as social worker Cally Gusti describes the scene. The find began after they noticed lumpy cushions and a suspicious zipper during March through April.
