Tragedy echoes after acquittal in Aiken murder case
A jury acquitted Don Preston Williams of the murder of Cyrus Howard in a case that exposed an affair and estrangement. Mrs. Ann C. Howard testified to the illicit relationship, while the couple’s joint bank account faced reopening as an alienation suit surfaces. The verdict leaves questions about motive and the impact on families and the community.
