Aiken County deputies arrested 41 year old Jeremy Smith after a domestic disturbance in Graniteville. The suspect allegedly forced entry with a rifle, fired a shot, and pointed the weapon at a neighbor as the victim fled. Smith was later stopped and jailed on criminal domestic violence and firearm charges.
An Aiken man Sherman Reeves age 37 was arrested after a Wednesday shooting on Herndon Dairy Road. Deputies responded at 1 p.m. to the scene and found a gun in a bag. The victim said Reeves pulled a gun on her and fired once while driving, then grabbed her by the hair and pointed the gun at her head. A witness saw him flee toward Silver Bluff Road. he was later found on property with no trespassing signs and booked.
An Aiken man Clyde Smith and Augusta woman Erica Smith were arrested after a Wednesday traffic stop in Aiken. Deputies stopped the Dodge Charger on Hayne Avenue after observing it leave Knights Inn. A green Crown Royal bag held cocaine, scales, a white powdery substance in a wallet, and a Norinco SKS rifle with bayonet. Both suspects admitted ownership and remained in custody.
A Graniteville man lost 600 dollars after an unknown man scammed him on Bettis Academy Road. Multiple domestic dispute, vandalism, theft and disturbance reports followed on Wilson Park Drive Apache Drive Anchor Court and more. A North Augusta man charged after fight over text messages. A Warrenville man vandalized by ex girlfriend. A man found on Concord Street not wearing pants due to bipolar medication lapse. Items stolen included a suitcase eight cases of beer, a missing tag and other items. Numerous shoplifting and broken window reports, car thefts, break-ins and an alleged theft from a hotel. A dog left in a car led to a summons.
