Kalber longtime Chicago news anchor dies at 79
Floyd Kalber, famed for NBC and Chicago television work, died of emphysema at his Burr Ridge home. A five time Emmy winner, he anchored at WMAQ TV for 16 years before joining Today then NBC, later reviving WLS TV for a 14 year run until retirement in 1998. He was nicknamed The Big Tuna for his newsroom dominance.
