The Aiken Newcomer's Club honored the Aiken County SPCA and the Service Council Day Care Center with $100 gifts each at its May luncheon at Hound Slake. SPCA director Jim Geddes and Day Care representative Ann Suich accepted the checks aiding the SPCA shelter on Wire Road and services for 98 low income children in Aiken and Graniteville. Singer Karen Edwards performed with pianist Dot Etheridge. Outgoing officers received special thanks. new officers were installed. The club will resume meetings on Sept 8.
