South Aiken to open NJROTC program next year
Aiken County will add a fourth NJROTC program at South Aiken High School next year. Superintendent T B Willis said a call from Sen Strom Thurmond's office confirmed the installation at the new campus. House committee approves $10 million AGNS plant funds
The House Science and Technology Committee authorized 10 million dollars for the Allied General Nuclear Services plant in Barnwell, about 2 million less than a subcommittee's DOE budget proposal for 1982. Roughly 6 million goes to research and development, 3 million to conceptual design for plutonium storage and waste solidification, and about 1 million for a DOE operability study.
