A nuclear watchdog group says a federally mandated progress report on the Mixed Oxide facility at Savannah River Site is nearly three months overdue. SRS Watch filed a FOIA request with NNSA for the 2017 MOX report, but NNSA says no documents exist as the MOX report is on hold.

South Carolina Senate backs highway worker safety bill
Senate Republicans say H. 4033 would raise penalties for drivers who endanger highway workers and emergency personnel in work zones. The measure passed unanimously and heads to Gov. McMaster for signature after a four year push led by senators and in response to DOT worker deaths in Williamsburg in 2012 and Aiken County in 2024.
