Forest Service grounds firefighting air tankers amid safety concerns
The Forest Service will replace large air tankers with helicopters, single engine aircraft and military planes, costing at least 26 million dollars. The move comes after an NTSB report citing safety and air worthiness concerns and follows contract terminations with private firms supplying the old fleet.
