Seniority House Seeks Funds to Renovate Teen Town Facility
The Aiken Area Council on Aging reports $30,000 raised after three months of solicitation for Seniority House, aiming to turn Teen Town on Morgan Street into a multi purpose facility with offices and activity space. They seek $100,000 total, with $75,000 needed to start phase one and move AACOA offices from the old Post Office. The council may borrow funds or seek grants while pursuing additional gifts and a matching $30,000 from the S C Council of Governments. Major donors include Riegel Corporations with $500 and many individuals and groups listed as supporters. The group must vacate the Post Office by September unless funds are secured.
