Relay For Life Returns Saturday To Raise Cancer Funds
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Aiken County returns this Saturday at the H. Odell Weeks Activities Center 1700 Whiskey Road. The free event raises funds for cancer research with survivor caregiver team laps, a memory lap, luminary service, and entertainment from Lemon Twist Band Southern Thunder Cloggers and more. Closing ceremony at 9 30 p m rain or shine.

Investigators from the Aiken Department of Public Safety seek public help locating 43 year old David Levon Long of Aiken missing since May 4. He is described as a black male 5 feet 7 inches tall and 175 pounds, last seen driving a black 2008 Dodge Caliber. Beech Island man charged in domestic violence case
Aiken County man Malcolm Simmons, 36, of Appleseed Lane, faces criminal domestic violence, second-degree assault and battery, and malicious injury to personal property. Deputies say he assaulted a 33 year old woman outside a Beech Island residence, strangling her in a car, then at her home while she locked him out and called 911. He remained in custody at the detention center after noon Wednesday.
