Aiken Showcases Growth at State Economic Seminar
The City of Aiken hosted two sessions of the South Carolina Economic Development Institute in downtown Aiken to highlight growth tools for community leaders. Will Williams of the Aiken Edgefield Economic Development Partnership said the program, a partnership of the SC Department of Commerce and the SC Economic Developers Association, drew about 70 attendees from across the state. Elizabeth Harm, tourism supervisor for Aiken, noted that showcasing Aiken helps attract relocation prospects and potential investment, while attendees sought ways to mirror the city’s downtown improvements in their own communities. Michael Ulmer of the Aiken Standard covers county government.
