Union members vote again today and Friday on a contract proposing 8 percent pay raise over three years plus bonus payments and life insurance up $15000. Retired Aiken High School principal James A. Taylor died Wednesday at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Funeral at noon Saturday at Cumberland African Methodist Episcopal Church. Burial in Jessamine Memorial Gardens. He helped smooth school integration in the 1960s and was the first black member of the Aiken Rotary Club. Aiken community mourns the soft spoken, genial leader who influenced many students and colleagues.
