Falkland Islands tensions rise as British fleet en route

Speculation grows of a Falklands landing as reinforcements reach the British battle fleet. British warships pounded targets around Port Stanley for a second day while Argentina warned ships and aircraft approaching the zone would be hostile. Canberra with 2500 Marines and Exocet frigates reportedly accompanied by landing craft and a destroyer arrived off the Falklands amid a 12 mile Argentine coast blockade. Water Quality Control Is A Full Time Job In Aiken County

Aiken County operates twenty one water systems with surface and ground water sources. DHEC requires purification by mixing raw water with chlorine lime alum fluoride and carbon or soda ash for pH control. Alums cause particles to settle, about 97 percent are removed before filtration. Aiken runs Shaw's Creek and Shallow Springs filtration plants and notes a new Pine Log Road well is underway.
