Aiken County School Board weighs meal price hikes and budget
The board meets at 7 p.m. at the district office to vote on a 15 cent lunch price increase for elementary and a 15 cent hike for middle and high schools. Breakfast stays at 1.75. The tentative budget includes step raises, teacher scale changes, service credits, a 2 percent retirement contribution rise, higher energy costs and charter aid changes. Also proposed is renaming the Freedman Center to Freedman Early Learning Center to reflect expanded services.
