Gray bows brighten Aiken for Brain Tumor Awareness Month
Dr Rebecca Harper organized gray bows on lampposts in downtown Aiken to mark National Brain Tumor Awareness Month. Helpers include her husband Will and children Amelia Macy Belle and Vin, plus Melissa Hofstetter and her daughters Lauren and Gina. Harper's mother Gayle Lee died last December from a grade III brain tumor. Lee taught at Indian Land Elementary. Harper, an Augusta University education professor, hopes the effort raise awareness amid about 700000 Americans with brain tumors, a third malignant.
