Dabo Swinney and Brad Brownell visit Aiken on Prowl and Growl Tour

Clemson coaches Dabo Swinney and Brad Brownell appeared at Aiken Technical College to sign autographs and answer questions for fans as part of the Prowl and Growl Tour. Three year old Liam Corley met Swinney and Brownell, receiving a helmet, jersey, and poster. The coaches praised the tour for connecting with supporters and highlighted Aiken as a longtime strong Clemson area.

Seven displaced after Thursday Boardman Road blaze

An Aiken two story home on the 500 block of Boardman Road was destroyed by fire Thursday morning. Seven people including three children were displaced. Public Safety Lt. Jake Mahoney said the blaze started on the ground floor and moved upward. Dispatch came in at 8 44 a m. No injuries were reported. The home was a total loss.

Day of Prayer unites residents in Aiken gathering

Aiken’s National Day of Prayer committee hosted about 55 residents at Laurens Street and Hayne Avenue for nearly an hour of prayer. Participants prayed aloud for local families and children, the White House, and world events, with organizers like Ridge Spring pastor Alvin Ligons urging unity and turning back to God.

Two Suspects Identified in Trenton Man Murder

Investigators have warrants for Donald George Hartekant Jr and Sandra Ann Marie Evans, both of Graniteville, in the death of 81 year old Claude G. Ward. Ward died from a beating and is believed to have died Tuesday night. Hartekant is charged with murder and first degree burglary. Evans is charged as an accessory after the fact. Both are considered armed and dangerous and may be in a white 2013 Toyota Tundra with plate TOSTAW.
