Vietnam veteran Bob Ritter to speak at Jubilee Club
Bob Ritter, famed collegiate football and lacrosse coach, will share his Vietnam War experiences and Christian testimony with the Jubilee Club of Millbrook Baptist Church. The talk is set for May 19 at 10:30 a.m. in the church gym at 223 S Aiken Blvd, as club director Judy Marks arranged the visit.

ATC and Aiken District Launch Reach Scholarships Initiative
Aiken Technical College and the Aiken County Public School District launch the Within Reach Initiative to boost county students attending ATC. The ATC Foundation commits $25,000 for 25 Reach scholarships of $1,000 each for graduating seniors enrolling at ATC this fall.

Aiken Garden Show and Reunion Set for May 15 16
The 2015 Aiken Garden Show runs 9 am to 4 pm May 15 and 16 at the Aiken County Historical Museum with vendors speakers rose show designers and the Banksia Bistro. A private garden tour runs 10 am to 3 pm. Two day tickets cost 20 in advance 25 at the door. Strollers are not allowed in gardens and the tour is not suited for children under 8. Tickets available through May 14 at listed vendors. Also May 15 the Aiken High School class of 1965 holds its 50th reunion at Newberry Hall 117 Newberry St. N.W. Area man threatens to shoot girlfriend and children
Aiken man faced charges after fleeing his home following a confrontation with his girlfriend over her three daughters. He pulled a handgun, ejected rounds, and pointed the weapon at his girlfriend. Victims de escalated the scene, the gun and bullets were recovered, and police obtained a warrant for arrest.
