The annual 70 mile bike ride and 5k run walk will start at 9 a.m. Saturday at the H Odell Weeks Activity Center. Gov Sanford and wife Jenny lead the events with parking along Price Avenue and at the City of Aiken Ceramics Building. The Amenan Steam bridge on Mt Pleasant Road will be closed next week from May 7 to May 14 with a detour via Old Shoals Road and US Highway 1.
The Aiken Area Council on Aging seeks substitute volunteers to deliver meals in Aiken County with routes from Gloverville to North Augusta. Volunteers receive two coolers, a route sheet, and a one hour or less delivery window. RSVP stipends apply for gas for those 55 plus. Call 803 648 5447.
A training program near USC Aiken offers four classes this Saturday and May 12 to prepare for PMP certification using PMBOK Third Edition.
