Theron Anderson announced Paula Blackwell has joined AgSouth Mortgages as a mortgage originator. She will work from the Aiken office at 951 East Pine Log Road for the home lending division of AgSouth Farm Credit.
Staff Sgt. John Barbare a Trenton native and Strom Thurmond High School 1998 graduate returns from a yearlong Afghanistan tour with injuries. He served as tactical team chief in the 312th Psychological Operations Company based in Upper Marlboro Maryland attached to the 1st Infantry Division. Barbare is a 2002 Citadel graduate and holds two Purple Hearts awarded in Afghanistan.
SRP Federal Credit Union has named Brandon Hill project assistant to the president and building manager. Hill previously served as assistant branch manager and branch manager for SRP. He earned a business management degree from USC Aiken and lives in Graniteville with his wife and two sons.
The annual Spring Herb Faire runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pascalina, 3250 Charleston Highway, Montmorenci. Admission and parking are free, with tours of the gardens and vendors offering herbal edibles, natural products, pottery, quilts, antiques, and heirloom plants. Local honey and freshly prepared refreshments will be available.

Innovative Solutions won three Best In Show awards at the 45th Annual PICA Awards in March for Digital Printing projects including a self promotion package, a Dogwood Stables poster, and rack cards for the U S Polo Association. A Special Judges Award was given for The Palmetto State Naturally calendar for Birds & Butterflies.
USC Aiken will award degrees to 369 seniors at the commencement ceremony in the Convocation Center Thursday at 7 p.m. Chancellor Dr. Tom Hallman gives the address in his final appearance before retirement June 30. Irene Rudnick receives an honorary Doctor of Education for service to USCA and the community. Ashley Willis, top senior, will address the class.
