Dunbarton Reunion Honors Exiled Town at Barnwell State Park
In Barnwell State Park the 49th Dunbarton Reunion gathers residents and descendants every year to remember the 1950s displacement for the Savannah River Plant. Joanne Zobel recalls the evictions, the community’s patriotism, and the move that dissolved the town by 1952. The event includes a 1 pm dinner and a subsequent meeting at the Solomon Blatt Community Center.
