Asparagus Study Tour Planned by Clanson College Extension
Plans announced by T Weftson district horticulturist of Clanson College extension service call for a study tour today through Aiken Saluda and Ridge field counties for a group of farmers interested in asparagus culture. Mr Watson will personally conduct the tour visiting growers to study fertilization curing cutting grading and packing with an eye to loading for shipment under government inspection.

Colored Man Allegedly Breaks In Fourth Time

Colored woman dies from pistol wounds in Union Street shooting
Minnie Brown a colored woman died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen sustained Sunday night at her Union Street home. Thomas Holmes a colored man was jailed on a murder charge. Holmes says the shooting was accidental but Brown before dying suggested it was intentional following an argument.

Senate approves second reading of new finance bill
Columbia reports the senate finance committee on Wednesday night passed the general appropriations bill on second reading with amendments. The measure totals about 10 million 583 thousand 857 dollars and 34 cents, about 200 thousand less than the first bill. Revenue items were removed from the original bill while others moved to separate measures, and a joint session was expected to select a successor to Judge Wilson of Sumter.

Young White Man Shot by Lee Green
Jack P. Seigler, a young white man from the Tite area, was shot last Friday by Lee Green in front of Seigler's home near Aiken. Seigler, hit in the chest and a minor hand wound, is improving at Aiken Hospital and could be discharged in four to five days. Green, who claimed self defense, was arrested after witnesses contradicted his account. Green has prior murder trials and was in custody at the county jail as the investigation continued.

Reports say wild dogs or coyotes are raiding livestock near Aiken South Carolina with repeated attacks on pigs goats and two cows. Tracks resembling coyotes were found at the Woolsey farm and raids extend toward Vaucluse road and Baptist Bottom.
