A federal judge in Washington halted a planned discharge of Amy Barnes a 20 year old sailor from Jeffersonville Indiana for 10 days. The temporary restraining order allows time for settlement talks and possible court action ending by June. Barnes alleges a navy witch hunt over rumors after she rejected a male sailor’s advances. She remains on active duty at Norfolk Virginia and the case centers on the don’t ask don’t tell policy in investigations.
