Solicitor to Try Case Involving Woman Deaths
Richland County Solicitor Joan Foard says John Hall Cannon will face trial in the term opening Monday for murder in the November 24 1971 shooting deaths of his mother Emmeline Wyman stepfather Edward Wyman II and his four year old half brother Edward Wyman III in Columbia. Cannon 19 was bound over by the county grand jury after an indictment in January. Police recovered a pistol at a sewage lagoon in Conway and a ballistics expert linked bullets to that gun. Fingerprints of Cannon were not found at the Wyman home and no witnesses placed him in Columbia that night.
